Originally performed "live" at the Workman Arts Open House Zoom event on June 26, 2020, this "Official Film", long overdue, was crafted to premier at the 2023 Rendezvous With Madness Festival in Toronto. A trifecta of firsts for this creator (dramatic monologue written; theatrical production, staged and filmed; and, public dramatic performance, live or filmed), The Reluctant Messenger is one part personal exposition, one part social commentary; and, one part plea to the audience for acceptance and compassion as WE are ALL called to engage in some sober reflection on our "way of life". Having written, staged, performed, recorded, edited and produced the entire film alone; without even an ear for feedback, the production is hardly perfect. This version includes embedded subtilties created for the festival as I, unfortunately, lost the project files before producing the version without them. As reluctant as this messenger may be to post the work, the Message itself relentlessly begs to be heard. Video was recorded using a Panasonic Lumix FZ300. Audio was recorded using a Sure SM 58 and an Alvoxcom UHF Wireless mic fed through a Focusrite Solo into Audacity on a Dell XPS 15 (2018). The film was crafted using PowerDirector 365. "Bravo!
