Every song is a story and every song has a story. (And, I am a cautionary tale.) On a dreary November Toosday in 2010, I sat in an SLAA Women’s discussion meeting where we got really honest about the “payoffs” of our “relationship patterns”. Why would we keep dating the same kinds of assholes? It didn’t matter what the “offense”, there was one “payoff” that was common to us all: having someone to blame for our hollow misery; a target for our accumulated anger and sorrow. And, the catharsis of expressing it. Indulging in bitch sessions after fights and breakups; the hen party, man bashing sessions with the girls afterwards - a bonding ritual. (Not really my tack. I was prone to write a lot.) I got home, picked up my guitar and “You’re Done” fell out. The song is pretty self-explanatory, I think. Except for the last statement. “I’ll have my fun when you’re gone.” is a reference to that “payoff”. Video was edited with Microsoft Clipchamp in March 2025.
